     Climate Investment and Finance Association(also known as CIFA) is a voluntary association composed of relevant institutes, regulatory authorities, financial institutions, institutional investors and other enterprises and institutions. CIFA was officially established after the approval of Chinese Society for Environmental Sciences in August, 2019. The founding of CIFA had received tremendous guidance from the Climate Change Department of Ministry of Ecology and Environment (MEE) of China, and the critical support from relevant departments of national ministries and commissions including the People's Bank of China, China Banking and Insurance Regulatory Commission, the National Development and Reform Commission and the Ministry of Finance.

 

     CIFA calibrates at promoting academic research in the field of climate investment and finance with the vision of growing as an authoritative professional institution and high-end think tank with global influence. CIFA will support competent departments of climate change, financial management, and regulatory authorities with climate investment and finance related policymaking. CIFA will facilitate relevant institutes to better climate investment and finance activities with technical support. CIFA will also broadly carry out international cooperation.

 

     CIFA will construct an information exchange platform for climate investment and finance and a platform to further synergize financial and industrial sectors, advance the mechanism transformation and pattern innovation, and boost the deliveries of relevant policies and projects. CIFA will issue China Climate Investment and Finance Development Report, formulate the standards and speculations for climate investment and finance, build a climate investment and finance project database and hold the Climate Investment and Finance Economist Forum, China Climate Investment and Finance International Workshop and China Pavilion on Climate and Investment at the UN Climate Change Conference.
